lecturers and invited speakers

The course will be led by Michael Rundell, Miloš Jakubíček and Vojtěch Kovář.

The guest lecturer for this year will be announced soon.

venue

The Workshop will be held in Panský dvůr Telč, a guest house close to the historic centre of Telč. The town Telč is well known for its town square surrounded by well-conserved Renaissance and Baroque houses with high gables and linked by a continuous arcade. The Historic Centre of Telč is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

included in the fee

The fee includes 1-year access to Sketch Engine, tuition, 5 lunches and refreshments during coffee breaks. Accommodation can be reserved during the registration. The participants are responsible for their travel expenses and other costs.

cancellations

We appreciate that the unique circumstances this year may discourage you from registering for the Workshop. We are therefore aiming to be as flexible as possible with our cancellation policy. Consequently, if you have to cancel your registration at any time up to 20th May 2022, there will be no cancellation charge and your Lexicom fee will be refunded in full.

Cancellations received after 20 May 2022 will be subject to a 330 EUR cancellation fee (incl. VAT). All cancellations must be sent in writing via e-mail to info@lexicom.courses. The organizers reserve the right to cancel the event before 20 May 2022, in which case participants who have already registered will be entitled to a full refund.

#StandWithUkraine

Following the war events in Ukraine, participants from Russia and Russian-occupied territories including Belarus may not participate in Lexicom events.

Instead we offer three free places for participants from Ukraine.

COVID measures

The following measures have been taken in response to the pandemic:
  • Extended cancellation period without a penalty. See Cancellations. Any cancellation by the participant after the date is subject to the cancellation fee irrespective of the reason.
  • Face masks, COVID tests and social distancing measures will be in place at the venue depending on the requirements at the time of the event.
  • In order to ensure social distancing, we limit the number of places on the course to 20.
The event may be cancelled if new restrictions are introduced and they prevent the event from being held. In this case, a full refund will be provided.

accommodation

Rooms (with breakfast) will be available in the Panský dvůr guest house. Accommodation is not included in the price and can be reserved during the registration. Participants can also decide to book accommodation themselves.

travel information

The participants should reach Brno (or Jihlava), Czech Republic on Sunday 12 June. The most convenient airport is the Vienna International Airport with Prague Airport as the less convenient option.

A coach leaving Brno at 5:30 PM, going via Jihlava at 6:45 PM will take participants to Telč on Sunday 12 June.

▶︎ Direct coaches to Brno
Coaches are operated by  RegioJet and FlixBus with journey times of 2h40mins and 2h respectively. They go directly between the airport and Brno.

▶︎ Trains to Brno
Trains operated by RegioJet or Czech Railways (with a transfer at the Vienna Main Station) connect the airport and Brno. The total journey time including the transfer is 2 hours.

You should use public transport (busses or taxi) to reach the Prague coach station Florenc (approx 45 mins). Then take a RegioJet coach to reach Jihlava (1h30mins journey time). Allow about 3 hours for the whole journey from the airport.

By air

Brno airport
At the time of writing this, the only operator was Ryanair with a service between London Stansted and Brno.

Bratislava Airport (140 km to Brno, approx 2h journey time to Brno)
There are buses and trains from Bratislava train station and coach station to Brno.

By train

There are frequent trains between Vienna Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Brno, the journey time is 1h30m. Vienna can be reached by train from many international locations.

By coach

Flixbus and RegioJet operate coach services connecting Brno and many close as well as distant European destinations.
