This year’s Lexicom attracted 27 participants from around the world. We welcomed students from China, Japan, South Africa, Canada and the US, as well as from several European countries. As usual, a wide range of backgrounds was represented: working lexicographers, research students, translators, computational linguists, and lecturers.

Our host institution was Jesus College, one of the oldest colleges in the University of Cambridge, some of whose buildings pre-date its foundation in 1496. This proved a very popular venue – everyone enjoyed living in the college, and exploring the ancient university city during the evenings.

This year’s guest speaker was well-known linguist and lexicographer, Ramesh Krishnamurthy, and following his lecture, we all embarked on punts and “sailed” along the River Cam to the village of Grantchester.
